Biography: Kevin Thompson was born in Georgetown, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1984 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from SMU School of Law in 1987. Kevin served on the SMU Moot Court Board Rules Counsel and practiced in the SMU Civil Clinic for one academic year. He has twenty-three years of legal experience, with ample first-chair trial experience at the State and Federal Court levels, and over 200 administrative trials. His practice focuses on the defense of personal injury claims arising out of motor vehicle/trucking accidents, workers' compensation claims, non-subscriber claims, products liability, premises liability, and contract/coverage litigation. Kevin joined The Silvera Firm in October 2010. He has authored and provided seminars entitled "Basics of Sexual Harassment Claims and the Americans with Disabilities Act," Association of General Contractors, Spring 1996; "Objecting to Scientific Evidence," Spring TADC Meeting 2000; and "Challenging Expert Witnesses Under Daubert and Robinson," Winter TADC Meeting 2006. Kevin was an instructor for the 2001 Texas Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy. Between 2003 and 2007 Kevin also served as Editor of the TADC Worker's Compensation Newsletter. He has given numerous presentations to insurance clients and third party administrators for continuing education credit.
